When presented with the opportunity to assist a bride in crafting an NA-forward cocktail menu for her enchanting wedding at the renowned Van Dusen Mansion in Minneapolis, my excitement knew no bounds. This invitation was nothing short of remarkable and exceptionally unique.

Accepting the Challenge: Crafting NA Forward Cocktails

As someone who has organized weddings for my own daughters, I understood firsthand that weddings often overlook the potential for nonalcoholic beverages. They represent perhaps the final frontier of inclusivity for NA in celebratory spaces. However, in this particular instance, both the bride and groom, along with a significant portion of the attendees, preferred nonalcoholic options. This opened the door to a profound discussion about the two flagship cocktails that would grace the menu. It was an honor to contribute to the creation of the "Hers" and "His" NA cocktails that were enthusiastically ordered and savored by many.

The Bartender’s Delightful Engagement: Serving "Bride & Groom" NA Cocktails

I relished the opportunity to collaborate with the bartender before the big day. We walked through the intricate elements that constituted each cocktail, and I provided guidance on how to present them flawlessly – from avoiding shaking the bubbles to adorning the drinks with the perfect garnishes. This dialogue was helpful to the bartender, as it marked her debut in serving elevated "bride & groom" zero-proof cocktails like these at a wedding reception. She was both delighted and engaged.
