Challenges in the NA Distribution Model
Zero Proof Collective's ZPC Connect meeting on August 11, 2022, held at EaTo Restaurant and hosted by Melissa Ruebl, delved into the significant topic of "Challenges in NA Distribution & Melissa’s NA Picks." This insightful gathering brought together leaders in the nonalcoholic industry to discuss and address hurdles in getting elevated NA options into the hands of restaurant and bar owners, general managers, and bartenders.
The event's location, EaTo Restaurant, provided an apt backdrop for the discussions. Attendees congregated in the Ritrovo room, where they were treated to a sampling of ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages. This sensory experience set the stage for meaningful conversations centered around overcoming obstacles in NA distribution.
The meeting identified several pathways to enhance the accessibility and visibility of elevated NA options. One key strategy involved increasing beverage sampling opportunities. This would allow decision-makers in the hospitality industry to experience and appreciate the quality and variety of NA offerings firsthand. Another crucial aspect discussed was the need for streamlined access to distribution networks, on par with alcoholic products. The importance of creating dedicated NA menus and delivering exceptional NA experiences within venues were also highlighted.
Jeff Seidensticker of SteadyPour.com (bar, restaurant, bar catering & cocktail mixes) leans into the NA industry because he is personally interested and supports the NA Movement. He gave us insights into his background of serving nonalcoholic beverages in an alcohol-centric world. He also discussed the bottling process and distribution challenges of his bottled mixes, as well as the many things he hopes to accomplish with Steady Pour in the future. (Interesting side note: As of this writing, Steady Pour does not promote their NA bar services as an engaging option on their website………big sigh)
As restaurateurs and industry leaders engaged in conversations, a sense of shared purpose and collaboration emerged. The challenges discussed reflected the evolving landscape of NA beverages, and attendees brainstormed actionable solutions to drive positive change.
In conclusion, the ZPC Connect meeting on August 11th successfully addressed the challenges surrounding NA distribution within the hospitality sector. By fostering discussions, sharing insights, and proposing innovative strategies, the event underscored Zero Proof Collective's commitment to advancing the nonalcoholic industry. Attendees left with a renewed sense of purpose and a roadmap for making elevated NA options an integral part of dining and drinking establishments.
