Elevating Nonalcoholic Drinks for Fourth of July Celebrations

Elevating NA Choices for Independence Day

In the lead-up to America's Independence Day, where alcoholic spirits often steal the show, ZPC appeared on WCCO-TV CBS News with a message encouraging everyone to include elevated NA (nonalcoholic) beverages at all their summer social gatherings. We underscored our mission to cultivate spaces where NA beverages are both served and celebrated with acceptance.

The Craft Behind Nonalcoholic Beverages

We emphasized the art and complexity behind NA beverages, mentioning that makers often start with a finished wine or beer and then subject it to a costly dealcoholization process. We showcased brands like Lupulin Brewing and Noughty wine by Thomson & Scott, UK, making it clear that these are carefully crafted options deserving of consumer attention. The segment was not merely an introduction to NA beverages; it served to educate the audience on the labor and skill behind these dealcoholized products, creating an appreciation that goes beyond taste.

Showcasing Tenneyson: A Flavorful, Low-Calorie Botanical Spirit

As our third option, we showcased Tennyson Black Ginger botanical spirit, which is crafted from scratch and has a big, bold, and spicy flavor—yet is low in calories and alcohol-free. We used it in our Peach Me! cocktail, where the most visually stunning summer peaches took center stage. Tenneyson's flavor absolutely wowed Jeff when he took his first sip.

The Reach and Impact of Media Exposure

In hindsight, the experience on WCCO-TV was a privilege. The opportunity to enter the privacy of someone's living room via their TV screen—to introduce new, perhaps paradigm-shifting ideas—is exhilarating. Our appearance went beyond mere product promotion. It was a platform to engage in a larger dialogue about choice, wellness, and inclusive social settings, topics that delve deep into the philosophy behind the beverages.

Demonstrating the New Era of Flavorful, Healthful, and Inclusive NA Beverages

The impact of our segment rippled beyond philosophical discussion. When anchors Jeff Wagner and Erin Hassanzadeh sampled our NA offerings, viewers received concrete proof that these beverages herald a new era, one where abstaining from alcohol doesn't mean sacrificing flavor or complexity. The TV segment was not just a momentary spotlight; it was a meaningful step toward fostering a future abundant in health-conscious and inclusive choices, catering to diverse journeys and preferences.

A Family Affair: Managing Logistics with Generational Continuity

Managing the details was quite a task, especially perfecting the Tenneyson Peach Me! cocktail with fresh, in-season peaches. Securing all of the products along with all of the Fourth of July decorations was a challenge. Fortunately, my daughter Callan stepped in, turning the preparation from a mere task into a family affair. Her involvement simplified the logistics and added generational continuity to our efforts. Each piece of chopped fruit and adjusted decoration nudged us closer to a world where NA beverages are as commonplace as their alcoholic counterparts.
